Students Showcase Their Skills at Full Sail’s Got Talent [Photos]

Last week, Full Sail students showed off their artistry at the annual Full Sail’s Got Talent competition held in the Full Sail Live Venue. The 12 competing acts included guitarists, singers, rappers, dancers, a keyboard player/singer, and one talented percussionist playing the marimba and drums with two drum sticks in each hand.

Despite tough competition, the highly entertaining dance duo Replay & Frazer (pictured above) won the day and the grand prize package: an interview on WPRK 95.6, two hours of recording time at the Spot Studio, a photo shoot, and a performance booking at the Natura Café. Replay & Frazer, who are Digital Arts & Design student Brandon Mirador and Show Production student Evan Frazer respectively, impressed the judges and the audience with their B-Boy dance skills and comedic choreography. In the beginning sequence, the masked Mirador seems to program Frazer, who responds with machine-like moves. As the sequence goes on, the two alternate by stealing the spotlight from each other.

The night’s judges included Recording Arts Program Manager Brandon Egerton, Music Business Course Directors Elizabeth Neff and Ana Reina, comedian RJ Grohman, and radio personality and Natura Café owner Paula Phipps. During breaks between contestants, audience members were entertained by the house band, Melange, and by student host Clifton Johnson. The audience was also treated to a performance by last year’s winner, singer/songwriter/guitarist Ryan McKenzie.
