Recording Arts Grad Ross Lara Shares His Story During a Week-Long Return to Campus

After graduating from Full Sail’s Recording Arts degree program in 2009, Ross Lara pretty much hit the ground running, building on contacts and networking opportunities that he developed while still in school as he worked to earn a reputation as a go-to songwriter/producer in the world of electro-pop.

With an already-impressive list of major label credits under his belt (including remixes for Britney Spears, Tegan & Sara, and more), Ross recently got to live out one of his dreams, as he was tapped by his musical idol, British record producer Paul Oakenfold, to work with him on his upcoming album, Pop Killer in Los Angeles.

Ross recently spent a week on campus to talk to students about his career path and offer his insight about what it takes to persevere in the music industry. During the multiple presentations that he gave during his time here, Ross stressed the importance of networking, and answered questions from students during open Q&A sessions that followed his enthusiastic and personable lectures.
