John Storyk has spent over four decades working as an architect and acoustician. He’s designed and built some of the most renowned recording and live performance spaces in the world, including Jimi Hendrix’s Electric Lady Studios, Jungle City Studios, and Jazz at Lincoln Center. He’s a Founding Partner and Director of Design for the Walters-Storyk Design Group, and the man behind Full Sail’s own Studio A.
A frequent visitor to campus, John recently stopped by Full Sail to share some of his design expertise with students. We caught up with him after his presentation to talk reconciling form and function in a space, the impact of shifting technologies in an ever-changing industry, what not to skimp on when it comes to studio design, and more.
