Ross Lara is having a good year. The 2009 Recording Arts grad co-produced a hit single for K-Pop sensations SHINee, and has recently dropped his latest collaboration, Gimm+Icky’s “Shake That,” which has reached number six on the Billboard Dance/Club chart.
Ross again served as co-producer on the track – the first single from the up and coming band, whose music has been previously featured in a Super Bowl promo and on ABC’s Modern Family.
Keeping that momentum going, Ross has just returned from a trip to South Korea, where he worked on five new K-Pop tracks with his partner Hyuk Shin at Joombas Music Group, two of which will also be dropping this month. It’s a lesson in maximizing your potential, and something students will have a chance to ask Ross about when he returns to Full Sail campus this week to speak about his life in the industry.
Ross’s lecture will be held at 9 a.m. on Friday, May 17 in FS3B-Room 112, and is open to all students and staff.
