On October 5, several of Full Sail students, faculty, and staff gathered downtown to take part in Orlando’s annual Come Out With Pride event. This event started in 2005 as a way to encourage the LGBTQ community, provide positive role models, and foster communication and tolerance. This year’s event brought more than 150,000 people to the streets of downtown Orlando, which were filled with smiling participants wearing brightly colored rainbow clothes as they waved pride flags with exuberance.
Stacy O’Mara, Full Sail’s Director of Professional Development, coordinated Pride activities with a group of students from Pure Motivation, Full Sail’s volunteer initiative. This was the first time Pure Motivation was involved with Come Out with Pride, and for this year’s event, the club assisted with setting up staging areas and other parade logistics in the morning.
