Full Sail has recently launched a chapter of Collegiate DECA, a competitive business organization that will allow students to compete against over 200 business schools around the country. The group was founded in the 1950s, and holds annual events at both a state and national level that challenges entrants with simulations, case studies, and presentations in areas like marketing, finance, entrepreneurship and management.

Our new club is open to all students and is headed by campus president Alan Boettcher, and online president Mark Anthony Brown. To kick off the new group, they will be hosting the Florida Collegiate DECA Executive Director Jack Rose on campus this Friday, November 15. The event is taking place from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the Entertainment Business Center.

Campus president Alan Boettcher spoke about the upcoming event and his decision to get involved with the organization, explaining “DECA competitions really prepare you for the business world, and you also meet so many people who can boost your confidence and help prepare you for interviews when you’re looking for a job. Its already made a difference for me, I feel much more focused on time management and networking.”
