This year, Full Sail’s holiday float hit the Central Florida parade circuit, appearing in three local parades. Full Sail faculty and staff members (and their families) spread holiday cheer at the 61st Annual Winter Park Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 7, the Baldwin Park Festival of Lights Parade on Saturday, December 14, and the Orlando Christmas Parade on Sunday, December 15.

The aviation-themed float was built by members of the Student Crew (you may have seen it under construction on the Backlot in the past few weeks), under the direction of Film Course Director Phil Bergquist and Production Technician Stephen Weiler. For the Baldwin Park and Orlando Christmas parades, which took place at night, the float was covered in dozens of holiday lights.
“[The parades] were all fantastic community events and each parade was unique in its theme,” says Tim Gregory, Full Sail’s Director of Academic Advising and a member of the Full Sail Band that performed atop the float. “It was just a very special experience for the whole university, and it really would not have happened without the efforts of so many different departments.”
