Located just north of downtown Orlando, EA Tiburon is the Electronic Arts video game development studio behind the wildly popular Madden NFL Series games. Full Sail recently welcomed EA Tiburon Recruiter Paige Pitman to campus to speak to students looking to break into the gaming industry.
During her classroom presentation, Pitman gave students some background about the company and its operations since Tiburon was acquired by EA in 1998. In addition to the Madden games, the studio has also been behind the Nintendo DS version of GoldenEye: Rogue Agent, Superman Returns, Tiger Woods PGA Tour (2007-present), and last year’s EA Sports MMA.
The lecture – which was also broadcast to online students via Full Sail’s Career Development Virtual Classroom – also touched on some of the career opportunities available not just at EA’s Orlando studio, but other branches all over the country and the rest of the world. Pitman also gave students some insight as to what they look for when interviewing potential employees, and gave them advice about what they can do to ensure that they get their foot in the door. Following the presentation, students were also able to ask questions about working in the gaming industry during an open Q&A session.
