When it comes to large-scale tours and show production, Clair Global is at the front of the pack. Recent and current tours include U2, Green Day, Katy Perry, and Tim McGraw, to name a few, and the company also was involved in this year’s Bonnaroo, NBA All-Star 2011, and the Winter Olympics 2010.
Full Sail students recently got a chance to learn more about the company and get insight about working in the industry from Clair Road Staff Manager Leon Hopkins and Training Manager Dave Lester during a presentation held at Full Sail Live 1.
It wasn’t that long ago that Clair visited Full Sail – Hopkins, a Show Production grad himself, spoke to students during last year’s Full Sail Hall of Fame week – but in the world of touring and live events, even just one year can hold a wide range of stories and life experience. Both Hopkins and Lester are veterans of the road, and throughout their two hour lecture, they were able to impart words of wisdoms to a room of students eager to get on the road and start their careers in the industry.
The pair ran down the history of the company, shared some highlights from decades on the road, and also gave advice to students and answered specific questions during an open Q&A session.
