21 Full Sail Staff Members Graduate from Business Emergency Response Team Training

On September 10, Full Sail faculty and staff members donned helmets, first aid packs, and protective gear to respond to a mock campus emergency.

This was the final test for the 21 Full Sail staff members who have completed several weeks worth of training conducted by the Orange County Emergency Operations Center. They are now part of Full Sail’s Business Emergency Response Team (BERT).

During the drill, staff members put out a small fire, used a crowbar and wood to rescue a trapped mannequin, and assisted volunteers acting as victims – each wearing a tag detailing their injuries and vital signs. Staff members responded by conducting search and rescue operations, performing triage and basic medical services, and communicating via radio with team leaders and first responders.
