What’s New in the Library: Downloadable eBooks

library

Can’t find that perfect source for your final paper? Looking for some reading material to fill your time between classes? Now you can download and read a book right on your laptop, phone, or tablet device from anywhere, on or off campus. That’s right… the Full Sail University Library now offers eBooks for download through the EBSCOhost database.

Just navigate to the “Online Research Databases” page on either Propeller or F.S.O. and choose the eBook Collection (EBSCOhost) link. You’ll need to sign in or sign up for an EBSCOhost profile in order to unlock the download capability. Once you’re signed in, click on the “More” tab at the top of EBSCOhost and choose the eBook Collection.

Once inside the eBook Collection, you can search using your choice of criteria or browse by subject. Once you have selected your eBook, click on the Download (offline) button. A pop-up will appear informing you of the checkout period and file format of your chosen title. The pop-up will also inform you that you will need the latest version of Adobe Digital Editions in order to read your eBook. To do this, first create an Adobe account, then download Adobe Digital Editions. If you are downloading your eBook to an iPad, you will also need to install the free BlueFire reader application on the device.

If you have any questions about this service or have any suggestions for additional eBook titles, please don’t hesitate to contact a librarian at library@fullsail.com. We’re excited about this new capability, and we hope you will be too. Happy e-reading!
