Life on the road and the Vans Warped Tour‘s crazy schedule are starting to sink in for Ryan Luistro, recent Show Production grad and Acoustic Basement intern, because when we talked to him last Friday, all he knew was that he was “somewhere near Mexico.” [The tour was stopped in Las Cruces, New Mexico.]
Ryan hails from St. Louis, Missouri and “usually just listens to country music” (his favorites are Jason Aldean, Keith Urban, and Braid Paisley), so touring all summer with a bunch of punk and rock acts was initially a bit of a culture shock for him. He’d never heard of any of the acts performing on the Acoustic Basement stage before, but in two weeks, he’s definitely started to appreciate them.
“I like pretty much every guy on the stage,” Ryan says. “The singer from Koji plays a lot of chill music and has incredible passion. With Evan from Into It Over It, you can tell there’s actual meaning behind his lyrics. Anthony Raneri from Bayside is a big hit, he usually packs the stage, as well as the three guys from Transit [pictured].”
We’ll have performances from some of these acoustic acts up on our YouTube channel in the coming weeks.
