This month’s graduating Show Production class will be ushering in the first multi-genre Advanced Concert Media Design show with a performance by Orlando soul band the Legendary JC’s. Doors are at 5:30 p.m. at Full Sail Live.
For over a decade, the JC’s have floored Central Florida crowds with their brand of soulful R&B and rock, and a “hardest-working-band” level of showmanship that typically leaves audiences just as sweaty as the musicians onstage. The group has had headlining gigs at Florida Music Festival and the NOLA Jazz Fest, and has graced the stage at festivals such as Voodoo Music Experience, Langerado, Bear Creek Music Fest, and Down on the Farm. The JC’s will also be joined by local pop/rock group Lily and the Tigers. The band infuses their music with dance/club sounds, and in 2010 played their first show at UCF’s Greenwaves Festival, opening for We The Kings, JCole, and Anberlin.
These monthly concerts are produced solely by students, with help from volunteers and guidance from Full Sail faculty. Students are responsible for contacting the bands, doing all pre-production work involved with putting on a large format concert, transporting and setting up gear, and setting up and running the lighting, video, and live sound equipment.
Members of the student crew function in various production positions, including show marketing, production management, stage management, visual media, audio, video, and lighting technicians and engineers.
See you at the show!
