Tonight at the Florida Film Festival: Popcorn Flicks in the Park

We’re right in the thick of amazing springtime weather in Florida, and tonight is a perfect example: little to no chance of rain and temperatures in the 70s. Take advantage of it and get off the couch (or out of the lab) for a few hours and catch a movie under the stars. Playing tonight in Winter Park’s Central Park (right off of Park Ave.) is To Kill a Mockingbird, the film adaptation of Harper Lee’s classic novel of the same name. The Full Sail-sponsored Florida Film Festival event is celebrating the movie’s 50th anniversary, which was originally released in 1962.
The free screening starts at 8 p.m., but try to arrive early to get a prime blanket or lawn chair spot. Plus, this way you won’t miss Full Sail Film program director Anne Watters introduce the movie, which runs just over two hours.
