Tomorrow: Perla Hoyos & Internship Opportunities with Sony Music Entertainment

If your career goals involve success in the music industry, you’ll be excited to hear that Perla Hoyos, the woman in charge of talent acquisition at Sony Music Entertainment, will be here on campus to talk to students tomorrow.

After starting off in the music industry as an intern at both Billboard magazine and MTV Networks, Perla landed a gig as the human resources assistant at Sony’s RCA/Jive Label Group in 2007. In 2009 she became the Internship Program and College Relations Assistant for all of Sony’s label groups, and in 2011 she became the head of the internship program. Perla currently oversees all aspects of Sony Music and Sony Music Latin’s internship programs.

Perla’s presentation is tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. in the Entertainment Business Auditorium. She’ll be talking about her own personal career path as well as sharing information about internship opportunities available at Sony.

  1. Perla is Awesome….one of the nicest and most helpful people I met when interning at Sony last year!

Damn I wanna go but I have my Music theory class at 1:15pm to 5 and then lab after that. Is there another time that I could make this event? Or can i be excused from class or something I really want to go. I’m very interested in Interning for Sony.

Hi Sherrice – We’re glad you’re excited about this event and hope you can find a way to make it, but we’d suggest checking with your instructor to see if you can be excused from class before attending.

  4. Sherrice says:

Thanks I’ll try that and see if I can get a pass from him but if not will I still be able to receive information about interning or is it only available to those who attend.
