Tomorrow: Full Sail Students to Run GRAMMY Showcase at Florida Music Festival

Show Production, Recording Arts, Entertainment Business, and Music Business students will run a local music showcase tomorrow night at The Social as part of The Recording Academy’s GRAMMY U program.

The Florida GRAMMY Showcase, presented by The Recording Academy Florida Chapter, kicks off Orlando’s annual Florida Music Festival and will include a pre-showcase reception with DJ Bill Hamel followed by performances from six local musicians and bands. On the bill: Chris Alvarado, Chloe Dolandis, Savannah, Sovereign Soldiers, Suenalo, and Venejer.

GRAMMY U is a national community of college students pursuing careers in the recording arts industry. The organization hosts networking events, educational programs, and performance opportunities in cities nationwide.

“Several talented musical acts will be competing for the prize,” says Hunter Menning, Full Sail’s Manager of Cultural Development and the faculty advisor for the school’s GRAMMY U program. “Just seeing the high-quality talent is worth it, plus there will be an opportunity to meet GRAMMY members.”

Admission is $10, and doors open at 7 p.m.

Hi, It looks like you are in the know for local events and I thought you might be interested in posting something about The Devil’s Carnival road tour that is coming to Orlando on April 19th. It’s a new film by Darren Bousman and Terrance Zdunich and will only be in the city for one night. The event will include live performance, costume contests, behind the scenes Repo! documentary, a screening and Q&A after with Darren and Terrance.
