(l-r) White Stripes frontman Jack White, Dex Romweber, Brett Steele & Sara Romweber
Associate Manager for Rainmaker Music Management Brett Steele is doing a guest lecture in the Entertainment Business Auditorium at 2:00 p.m. today, and we guarantee you won’t leave the presentation without learning something new about the inner workings of the music business.
Steele hit the ground running in 1989 with Roxx Gang, the first rock band signed to Virgin America, and soon added The Mojo Gurus (Universal Records) and the Dex Romweber Duo (who recently signed to White Stripes frontman Jack White’s Third Man Records) to his roster. While overseeing the late career resurgence of Country Music Hall of Famer Charlie Louvin, he caught the attention of Rainmaker Music Management, which provides management services for artists, festivals, publishing catalogs, independent labels, and special projects for a wide variety of clients and associates, including American icon Del McCoury, PBS, and the Independent Film Channel.
Today, Steele oversees the careers of Tony-nominated jazz singer Ann Hampton Callaway, world music darlings Scythian, and Norwegian Grammy-winners Orbo and the Longshots.
If you can’t tell by now, Steele has tons of experience working in many different facets of the music industry, and he’s going to be sharing his insight and answering questions from the audience – don’t miss out!
