Since 2005, local design professionals, students, and other Adobe users have been meeting as part of the Orlando Adobe User Group, a community dedicated to helping both beginner and novice Adobe users sharpen their skills. The group’s free monthly meetings are open to anyone interested in Adobe and feature guest speakers, Adobe tutorials, live art demonstrations, giveaways, networking opportunities, and more. As of this month, the Orlando Adobe User Group’s new home for monthly meet-ups is on Full Sail’s campus.
The first on-campus meeting was held on Tuesday night and featured an Adobe Illustrator tutorial from Adobe Certified Instructor Douglas Mitchell and a live digital painting/illustration demo from artist Petros H. Thorp. The group ended the night by giving away a one-year subscription to Adobe Creative Cloud.
“It was a good first start for seeing how Full Sail can help the Adobe User Group grow and connect with more industries,” said Digital Arts & Design Program Director Eric Rosenfeld.
The next meet-up will be held on Tuesday, June 17 and will feature presentations from John Flynn (the owner of local company *Post) and Digital Arts & Design Lab Specialist Omar Martinez. More information will be available on the Full Sail Blog calendar and on the Orlando Adobe User Group’s meet-up page.
