The Library Team Hosts Mario Kart 8 Tournament


The Library Team is excited to announce that they will be hosting a Mario Kart 8 Tournament next week.

This tournament will be held in The Treehouse (FS4E) on Sunday, July 31st with all skill levels welcome to participate.

Space is limited and students are encouraged to register early. Student ID will be required to attend the event. Registration begins at 1:00 p.m. and the tournament will commence at 2:30 p.m.

Online students interested in participating can do so via live stream. Anyone interested in playing with other students from their consoles can share their Nintendo ID in the stream chat. A link to stream the event will be provided closer to the event date.

Rules of the tournament are:

-Four player free-for-all


– No CPU

– Three races for Elimination Rounds

– Five races for Finals

– Single elimination

– Random level selection

– Top two players advance on points

– No personal controllers

There will be a five-minute limit once a bracket is called and failure to show up will result in immediate disqualification. Students will not be permitted to bring their own controllers and gamepads cannot be used. Controllers will be provided by The Library Team and will consist of Wii remotes, Wii remotes with wheel, or classic controllers.

Game Development Final Projects will also be available to test out at this event and tabletop games will be provided for non-racing students.

    I think there should have some prizes because it can improve student’s enthusiasm. The activity can help students who like to play this game exchange some experience. Also, I think after the game they should get some ideas from the students who go to the activity. Ask them what kind of activity they like or some advance from this game activity.
