Its hard to argue with the pedigree of The Empty Hearts, a new supergroup made up of classic rock artists Andy Babiuk (The Chesterfield Kings), Clem Burke (Blondie), Eliot Easton (The Cars), and vocalist Wally Palmer (Romantics). The band just released their self-titled debut album this August, with the lead single “90 Miles an Hour” showcasing their garage rock sound.
The 60s throwback brought the Empty Hearts to campus this summer, with the foursome filming a music video for the song in Full Sail Live. The shoot lasted a day, with the band playing on stage to a backing track, with film footage and motion graphics projected behind them, creating dramatic silhouettes. On hand to assist were a group of students and staff from our audio programs – helping to run the lighting, audio, and cameras, as well as handle the setup and breakdown of the gear.
It was a high energy production, and the resulting video will be available online in the coming months. The Empty Hearts’ LP is distributed by 429 Records, and you can catch them on the road this fall during their U.S. tour.
