The PRIDE Club (Peers Respecting Individuality, Differences, and Equality) aims to bring Full Sail’s diverse student body together by focusing on LGBTQ issues, promoting acceptance, and standing up against hate. Last month they amped up their mission by hosting a free photo shoot for the Love is Louder campaign in the Entertainment Business building. Students who attended were encouraged to write the “Love is Louder” affirmation on a sheet of paper or on themselves and take a stand (and a photograph) to help spread the positive message.
Love is Louder is both the name of and the message behind the national campaign that was launched by The Jed Foundation, MTV, and actress Brittany Snow. The anti-bullying and anti-discrimination movement aims to show support to anyone who feels mistreated, misunderstood, or alone. Individuals, committees, and schools help spread awareness for the message by sharing the Love is Louder mantra through rallies, photo shoots, and messaging initiatives.
Around 50 Full Sail students and staff members took part in last month’s photo shoot. Students can check out all of the “Love is Louder” photos that were taken over on Connect.
