Student Group MEISA Hosts March Open Mic Night

Students in Full Sail’s Music and Entertainment Industry Students Association (MEISA) hosted an Open Mic night at the DieselBean Café, providing anyone with a chance to show off their musical talents in front of an audience of music lovers.

Though the event did get off to a late start, the night resulted in a variety of poets, singers, instrumentalists, and bands taking the spotlight for 10-minute slots that highlighted the diversity of talent among students from the Recording Arts, Music Business, and Entertainment Business degree programs.

MEISA’s Full Sail branch formed in 2002, and has since served to bring music business students together with educators and leaders in the music and entertainment industry to help prepare them for careers after graduation.

In addition to local, on-campus activities, members also are able to attend nationwide events, including the recent 2010 International Conference in Miami, which hosted Grammy-winning producers Phil Ramone and Pharrell Williams.
