Student Club Spotlight: GRAMMY U

The GRAMMY University Network (or GRAMMY U for short) is not so much a club, but rather a nationwide networking organization with a chapter here on Full Sail’s campus. Students in GRAMMY U are those who are interested in pursuing a career in the music industry, and they come from degree programs like Music Business, Show Production, and Recording Arts. The organization gives them the opportunity to take part in exclusive educational programs and live events within the industry.

Club members recently helped produce the GRAMMY U Showcase during the Florida Music Festival and participated in a GRAMMY Camp Soundcheck event with the band My Morning Jacket.

The next GRAMMY U event is “In the Box with the Pros,” a professional development panel including Latin GRAMMY-winning producer Carlos Alvarez and GRAMMY-winning engineer Eric Schilling. The panelists will explore the perspective of working solely inside a digital workstation format. It takes place on Wednesday, October 10, at 3 p.m. in FS3B-Room 106.

If you’re interested in joining GRAMMY U, send an e-mail to the club’s sponsor, Hunter Menning, at hunter@fullsail.com.
