Full Sail Show Production students were able to pool together everything they learned throughout the degree program to produce a concert in the Advanced Media Design course shortly before graduation.
This month’s featured artist was acoustic blues act Ruth King, an Orlando-transplant who regularly performs in and around House of Blues Orlando in Downtown Disney. The singer/guitarist performed selections from her album Ain’t Gonna Feel Bad About It for students at Full Sail Live.
From the early pre-production stages to the moment that the artist hits the last note to the post-show breakdown, students in the Advanced Media Design course are responsible for a wide variety of tasks, including the selection of the showcasing acts and creating content that gets displayed on the venue’s LED wall. Additionally, the students must also promote the event around campus – and of course run sound and lighting during the actual show.
The Show Production Final Concert Series requires students to utilize their knowledge of concert audio, lighting, media server and video technologies to produce their own show. Members of the crew function in various production positions, including show marketing, production management, stage management, visual media, audio, video, and lighting technicians and engineers.
