Recording Arts Students Compete in the Shure Fantastic Scholastic 7 Recording Competition

Full Sail University was recently selected as one of ten schools in the country to compete in the Fantastic Scholastic 7 Recording Competition, a contest held by microphone company Shure that challenges students to record a live ensemble using an array of Shure products to get the job done.

The four Recording Arts students who were selected to be a part of Full Sail’s Recording Team worked with 2008 Florida Grammy Showcase winners the Jacob Jeffries Band. After a two-day tracking session in the Audio Temple, the student group reconvened to mix the band’s song and send it off as their official submission.

The school represented by the Grand Prize Winning Team will be awarded a new set of Shure products, including microphones and monitoring headphones at a total approximate retail value of $10,000. Each student team member will also receive their own KSM42/SG microphone (approximate retail value $1,000 each).

Good luck to Full Sail’s Fantastic Scholastic 7 Recording Team!
