Online Digital Cinematography Students Visit Campus

Full Sail’s online Digital Cinematography Bachelor’s Degree program has students from all over the country enrolled, and yesterday some of them were able to check out the Full Sail campus for the first time ever. The department hosted its first DCBS Meet and Greet, an opportunity for the online program’s students to tour campus, meet instructors, and hang out with fellow classmates.

The group of nearly a dozen students – one who had traveled from as far away as Indiana – met yesterday afternoon in the 3F lobby before heading off on a guided tour of campus. Afterward, they were treated to a pizza party meet and greet on the 16mm soundstage, where Digital Cinematography Program Director Bob Truett (pictured above) answered questions and discussed the industry with everyone in attendance.

“We’re trying to give the students a more one-on-one experience to network with each other,” says Bob. “We want to establish the best connection possible.”

The new Digital Cinematography department (currently in the 15th month of the program) plans to host these meet and greets once every quarter.

This is great. Hopefully all of the online programs can arrange something similar.

  • I actually Drove from Indiana, the one who flew was from North Carolina.

  • This was so great! I can’t wait to do it again. I hope we have some type of projects to do. Maybe look into the camera or practice with some lighting. I would love a workshop of some kind. 🙂

    • Glad you enjoyed it, Radiah! I’ll definitely pass your suggestions along.
