Today we’re excited to see the release of independent crime drama Mission Park, from writer/director Bryan Ramirez – a 2003 graduate of our Film program. We previously profiled Bryan’s work on the movie back in April of this year, where he spoke about his evolution from a television editor to indie filmmaker.

The film’s cast includes Douglas Spain, Vivica A. Fox, and Sean Patrick Flannery, and tells the story of four childhood friends stuck on opposite sides of the law. Reception for the project has already been positive, with Mission Park winning Best Director and Best Narrative Feature at the Boston International Film Festival, and the Special Jury Award at WorldFest Houston.

Mission Park opens today in Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, and Bryan’s hometown of San Antonio, Texas. You can follow the film’s website for news on additional screenings.
