Movies, Contests, and No Overdue Fees (!) for National Library Week

Movies, Contests, and No Overdue Fees (!) for National Library Week

Every April, the American Library Association carves out an entire week dedicated to library awareness and appreciation: the appropriately named National Library Week. Full Sail will participate in the celebration with a line up of free activities for students. Check out everything the Library has planned below.

Fine Amnesty Day. If you have overdue books or movies, definitely take advantage of this. On Friday, April 19, from 8 a.m. – 9 p.m., you can return overdue items without shame because the Library will waive any overdue fees you have. This fine forgiving is for both campus and online students.

Movie Nights. A different movie is screening every night this week at 6 p.m. in the Library. Check out The Pagemaster on Monday, The Shawshank Redemption on Tuesday, The Breakfast Club on Wednesday, Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark on Thursday, and National Treasure: Book of Secrets on Friday. Snacks will be provided at each event.

Online Scavenger Hunt. Online students get to take advantage of National Library Week, too, with an online scavenger hunt happening all week long on Connect. More details are over on Connect.

Raffle. If you sign up for a new library account on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday, you’ll be automatically entered into a raffle for a $5.00 copy card.
