Hall of Fame Week: Preview for Monday, Nov. 7

Our 2011 Hall of Fame celebration kicks off at 9 a.m. Monday, November 7, with a red carpet walk for this year’s six inductees, followed by an induction ceremony in the Full Sail Live Venue featuring video retrospectives, speeches from selected guests, and some special surprises.

Afterwards their Hall of Fame exhibits will be unveiled in the Entertainment Business Center. These installations feature a multimedia history of each grad’s life and career, along with personal memorabilia.

Additional events will continue throughout the day, including panel discussions with inductees past and present, as well as an exclusive campus performance from singer/songwriter Marc Broussard.

EVENTS FOR MONDAY, NOVEMBER 7:

9:00 a.m. – 9:15 a.m. – Red carpet walk, Full Sail Live Venue

Welcome our Hall of Famers, past and present, and VIP guests as they enter the ceremony.

9:15 a.m. – 12:00p.m. – Hall of Fame Ceremony, Full Sail Live Venue

The Full Sail University Hall of Fame recognizes the extraordinary accomplishments of select Full Sail graduates who have excelled in their career field.

2:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. – Beyond 5.1: The Future of Sound for Picture, FS3B Auditorium

Join veteran sound designers and re-recording mixers Harry Cohen, 2011 Hall of Fame inductee David Farmer, 2010 Hall of Fame inductee Marc Fishman, and 2009 Hall of Fame inductee Gary Rizzo as they explore the future of multi-channel audio for film and television.

2:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. – Rigging and Special Effects, FS3B 131

2011 Hall of Fame inductees Laurie Brugger and Culley Bunker, along with Full Sail graduate Brett Novak, will lead a discussion on special effects and rigging as they pertain to the animation world.

2:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. – On Location: Film Production, FS3B 113

Full Sail is honored to welcome 2011 Hall of Fame inductee Darren Lynn Bousman, 2010 Hall of Fame inductee Steve Cainas, actor J LaRose, 2009 Hall of Fame inductee Steve Switaj, and cinematographer Joseph White as they share their experiences on set.

2:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. – The Motion Graphics World of Jayson Whitmore, FS3B 112

2009 Hall of Fame inductee Jayson Whitmore will discuss the motion graphics industry and how creative, technical, and industrious students can make it a career. Jayson will show an insider’s view of the industry’s workflows and explore the creation of the award-winning animations from his company, Royale.

4:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. – The Reality of Reality Television, FS3B Auditorium

This panel of reality television veterans, which includes Hall of Fame inductee Troy Devolld, and Michael Murray, Adam Sher, and Anne Walters, will discuss the growth and popularity of this broadening television genre.

4:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. – Artist Relationships and Touring, FS3B 113

Join 2011 Hall of Fame inductee Sean Spuehler, 2010 Hall of Fame inductee Martin “Tike” Santos, and Full Sail instructors Henry Nophsker and John Sheldon as they discuss the relationship between the artist and the live audio engineer.

4:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. – Microsoft Gaming Presentation, FS3B 131

Game producer, strategist, and 2009 Hall of Fame inductee Cordy Rierson is returning to campus to share several projects she is working on for Microsoft, and will also discuss production for game development, university relations, and Microsoft Kinect innovation.

8:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. – Hall of Fame Concert: Marc Broussard, Full Sail Live Venue

Full Sail is proud to welcome Atlantic Records recording artist Marc Broussard to campus as our special guest artist for the Hall of Fame concert, sponsored by Full Sail and Avid.
