Hall of Fame 2012: Nappy Roots, Hip Hop, and Reality TV [Video]

During February’s 4th Annual Hall of Fame Celebration, our video team was hard at work recording several of the more than 60 guest speaker panels and sessions that took place on campus. We’ve been posting them here on the blog as they get uploaded to our YouTube channel. Check out two more of them below.

Nappy Roots Share the Secrets to Independent Hip Hop Success. Hip hop group Nappy Roots have long been supporters of Full Sail and Full Sail’s Black Student Union, so they were happy to return to campus during Hall of Fame Week to give advice to students who want to work in the music industry. The group talked about severing ties with a major label and starting their own independent label, Nappy Roots Entertainment Group.

Reality TV: An Insider’s Guide to Television’s Hottest Market. Full Sail Film graduate and 2011 Hall of Fame inductee Troy DeVolld talks about his book, Reality TV: An Insider’s Guide to Television’s Hottest Market, and his experiences working on popular reality television shows like The Bachelor, Dancing with the Stars, The Osbournes, and Basketball Wives.
