In less than two months, one of the largest music conferences in the world will descend on Atlanta, GA for four days of collaboration and connection between international artists, songwriters, sponsors, music industry executives and music fans. Reginald Brooks, a Full Sail Music Business grad, has been living and breathing the International Music Conference (IMC) since he started working for the event’s planners, the Bridge, this April.
“It feels like I’ve been working [here] for months,” says Reginald. “My responsibilities include scouting venue locations, securing sponsorships/exhibitors, organizing street team campaigns, and attending industry-related events.” He is also creating marketing budgets, sending out countless emails, and drafting web content.
It’s a lot of work, but he is loving it. “The best part about working on the IMC thus far is that things can happen very quickly. You never know what special event you might get to attend or who you may get an email from. I’ve been communicating via email with an attendee from Mauritius.”
But one of the best perks, of course, is being able to attend the conference. A star-studded lineup of industry giants will attend as participants and panelists, including producers Kendrick Dean and Chuck Harmony, rapper Drumma Boy, and singer-songwriter Claude Kelly. “I’m looking forward to our music showcases and hearing the discussions from our panelists,” says Reginald, who will soon be rubbing shoulders with the some major industry movers and shakers.
