Full Sail gaming students recently got the chance to learn more about Gainesville, Florida-based game development studio Trendy Entertainment. Associate Producer Adrian Hayes-Santos presented a lecture to students that explained the way the studio operates, showcased some of the projects they have completed, and demonstrated their pro-cross-platforming philosophy.
Trendy was formed by co-founders of Artificial Studios Inc, along with directors from Ignition Entertainment. Pooling together their years of industry experience, the company focuses on developing arcade video games for digital distribution. Recent titles they have developed include VisionPlay and Dungeon Defenders. Dungeon Defenders: First Wave also holds the distinction of being Android’s first Unreal Engine 3-made game. The title was also recently released on the iOS platform.
Hayes-Santos also answered questions from students about what it’s like to work in the gaming industry, and offered advice about carving out a career path after graduation – including what employers at studios like Trendy are looking for when they receive a resume.
