Full Sail’s English as a Second Language (ESL) courses of study launched in 2012, with Andrea Pignata the first student to complete the certificate. 12 months later, Andrea has just graduated from the Entertainment Business Masters program as class valedictorian.

Andrea came to Full Sail from his home country of Italy, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management, and excelled as he applied the communication and language skills he learned in the ESL classes to his Entertainment Business projects.

“The teaching methods were very different from the traditional ESL programs I had taken,” he says. “They were more dynamic, and included lab hours where students had the opportunity to practice what they had learned. It’s not just about grammar and theories, but it is also about practical experience which was very fun.”

Since graduating this spring Andrea has been enjoying time with his family, and is looking forward to his job search in the Central Florida area. “My plans for the future are here in the U.S.,” he says. “Full Sail provided me the knowledge, the experience, and the tools to succeed in the professional path. Due also to my background as a CPA (Certified Public Accountant) in Italy, I’d love to start working as a business analyst for a big company in Orlando.”

I’ll like to congratulate you, Andrea Pignata. You are a motivation for ESL students, and also for Full Sail University. ESL program had become an inspiration for many English courses. As he said, it’s not just about theorie, we also learned having fun and becoming professionals for the industry that we want to be in. This is the best example that nothing is impossible, even if you don’t know the language. That’s why, I want to congratulate Andrea Pignata, and also the ones that help hem getting graduated, ESL.
