Student Club Spotlight: Full Sail Picture Show

When Michael Cross – a lab instructor for the Film program’s Digital Cinematography course – first came to Full Sail, he was surprised that there wasn’t an official club on campus for watching movies. Michael and a few other Film students felt that there should be a community for students who appreciate movies to get together, watch some films, and talk about them afterward. So, a few weeks ago, he became the faculty sponsor for the brand new Full Sail Picture Show club, a group of students from all degree programs with a general interest in and appreciation for film.

The club’s first official screening will be of Toy Story and will take place next Friday, August 10, at 7:05 p.m. in Soundstage 109 (Building 4A). In the future the club hopes to have monthly film screenings and other film-related celebrations. “With these meetings, we also hope to have students come in and show their movies as well,” says Michael. “It will be another way for students to showcase their talent.”

Students interested in joining the club and finding out about future screenings can check out the club’s Facebook page.
