Full Sail University is excited to announce the reopening of the Library on campus with changes made to benefit students.
Located in Building 3, the Library has now doubled in size to provide more spaces to work and socialize. The new circulation/reception desk is larger and a small café area has been added featuring vending machines and seating.
One of the biggest changes of the new space is the addition of four collaborative study rooms, which students can reserve for group work. Each of the collaborative rooms has a flat screen 4K TV with HDMI capabilities, a whiteboard, and whiteboard kits. Students are able to reserve these rooms during regular Library hours, and may submit a request at least 24 hours in advance on the Library’s Connect page.
In addition to the new designated workspaces for students, five new iMacs have been installed with a range of software, including Adobe Creative Cloud. A tabletop game collection of around 30 games has also been added to the library, as well as the increase of the size of the digital book collection.
“As with any information environment, our role is evolving from housing books, games and movies to being a partner in student learning,” said Stephanie Maatta, Director of Library Services. “We are unique in that Full Sail students have access to a large collection of video games, graphic novels, and films, which support the curriculum as well as our students’ leisure interests.”
The Library will continue to host events for students, including guest lectures, special presentations, and student-sponsored gaming events.
Library hours have remained the same: open Monday-Friday, 8am – 9pm and Saturday, 8am – 5pm. The Library is closed on Sundays.
