Full Sail Hosts Kickoff for the American Cancer Society Florida Division’s ‘Making Strides Against Breast Cancer’ Event

Things got a little more pink than usual on campus, as Full Sail recently hosted the kickoff event for the American Cancer Society Florida Division’s “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer” event. Held in the Full Sail Live Venue, the evening’s proceedings were hosted by Michelle Burdo from Fox 35 and 105.1 DJ Alex Diaz.

The audience was able to hear inspiring stories of inspiration and courage from breast cancer survivors who are now working with the American Cancer Society to raise awareness and funds to go towards their cause.

The “Put on Your Pink Bra” is a brand new campaign launched by the American Cancer Society. Going forward, the pink bra icon will accompany the traditional pink ribbon, as a symbol of how personal the fight against breast cancer is. Making Strides is a noncompetitive 5K walk that will be held on October 29 at Lake Eola Park. Participants at the event at Full Sail Live were able to sign up for the 5K and pledge money to help support the fight against breast cancer.
