Full Sail Helps Take Stock in Children [Photos]

The Full Sail Live Venue played host last Thursday to the Take Stock in Children of Orange County Graduation & Scholarship Ceremony. The first-ever event honored the 49 local high school seniors who have participated in the Take Stock in Children mentorship program for the past five years. Each student received a 2+2 Florida Prepaid $30,000 scholarship.

Full Sail, through a partnership with Valencia Community College, helped launch the program five years ago and has been a key sponsor of the non-profit organization ever since. Take Stock in Children selects low-income, at-risk youth and provides them with support between 7th and 12th grade. Students sign a contract at the beginning of the program that states they will stay in school, maintain good grades, exhibit good behavior, remain crime- and drug-free, and meet with their mentors weekly. In return, they receive a college scholarship.
