We’re proud to announce that Full Sail Course Directors Cassandra Willard and Darren McDaniel will be presenting at this weekend’s TEDxOrlando 2011 Conference at the Garden Theater in Winter Garden. An offshoot of the global TED conferences dedicated to spreading new ideas and discussion surrounding technology, entertainment, and design, TEDxOrlando will be held at the Garden Theater in Winter Garden on Saturday, November 5th from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Cassandra is a Course Director for the Entertainment Business Master of Science Degree’s Advanced Entertainment Law course. As a partner at the Law Offices of Franklin & Willard, Cassandra represents clients in various facets of the entertainment and technology industry, from basic business setup to contracts and disputes.
“My topic is about following your passion,” she says. “I am discussing how to bridge the chasm between business and creativity. My talk is aimed at challenging listeners to do what they love. Between my students and my clients, I have seen so many success stories in the entertainment business industry. I will be sharing two client stories about how you can utilize creativity and business knowledge to start reaching your dreams.”
Darren’s presentation – “Creative Sparks in the Social Arena” – will talk about his downtown project Urban ReThink and the powerful role that community can play in the creative process.
“We tend to think of creativity as an internal, cognitive process, but the social sphere shapes where ideas can go and also inspires people,” the Digital Storytelling Course Director says. “The model of Urban ReThink is to provide an arena for opportunity structure as well as a flexible framework that creative people can contribute to and empower one another.”
