Film Fridays: Spacetown, USA

film fridays

Living in a city (Titusville) that depends on the success of the Space Shuttle program is the focus of Spacetown, USA, a documentary directed by grad Ryan Kindell that premiered in 2009. In the doc, Kennedy Space Center employees and local business owners reflect on the past, present, and future of NASA’s shuttle program and what it will mean to the town.

The documentary has received quite a bit of praise: It won second place at the Enzian’s November 2009 Film Slam Festival and was selected to screen at the 2010 Florida Film Festival, as part of the Florida Shorts: Best of Brouhaha showcase. Check it out below.
