Computer Animation Grads Return to Campus For Panel Presentation

While students in Full Sail’s Computer Animation program spend a great deal of their time honing their craft and learning the skills necessary to bring their art to life, the idea creeping in the back of everyone’s mind is usually the same: what am I going to do after I graduate?

Close to 300 students got a little bit closer towards the answer to that question during the 3D Arts Fall Advisory Board Panel Presentation, held at Full Sail Live 1. Education advisor Sam Fleming (Classical Character Animation and Educator at Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design) moderated a discussion with four Full Sail Computer Animation grads who are currently working in the industry: Nate Howe (freelance director), Wade Ammon (Art Development and Production Contractor at Ammonite Consultants and Production), Ryan Watson (Animator at RavenSoft), and Keith Guerrette (Lead FX Artist at Naughty Dog).

The four grads gave students a glimpse at what their professional lives are like, and also shared their stories about getting their start in the industry. They also offered up helpful tips about demo reel do’s and don’t’s, the importance of utilizing the Career Development department at Full Sail, and the power of networking in the industry. After the discussion, the panel also took questions from students in the audience.
