A Tour of The Detroit Chop Shop with Ric Viers

As the world’s largest producer of sound effect libraries, Film grad and 2014 hall of fame inductee Ric Viers has one of the coolest jobs around. His sounds have been featured in hundreds of movies, television shows, and games, and every one of them is created by Ric and his team in and around his Michigan based studio, the Detroit Chop Shop. Although Ric spends a fair amount of time at the sound board editing effects, a big part of what he does is involves sledgehammers, fire, and dozens of unfortunate vegetables in order to put together action packed collections like “Heroes & Villains” and “The Zombie Apocalypse Sound Library.” We visited Ric’s  studio to see where the magic (and the destruction) happens.
