Students, Faculty, and Alumni Try Out for Orlando Magic National Anthem GIg
With Full Sail’s recent launch of new sports-related degrees and its collaborative project with ESPN for the Full Sail University Sports Lab, the worlds of sports and entertainment have been overlapping more and more here on campus.
Which brings us to the most recent sports-related Full Sail happening, as the school has teamed with the Orlando Magic to offer up the awesome opportunity to sing the National Anthem at a Magic game later this month. Students, faculty, and alumni were recently given the opportunity to try out for the gig. And with a panel of judges on hand and 60 contestants offering up solo, group, and instrumental renditions of “The Star-Spangled Banner,” there certainly was some excitement in the air.
12 finalists were selected from the preliminary auditions, and they’ll be competing in the final round inside the Full Sail Live Venue – before the judges, students, and the general public – on February 11.American Idol, eat your heart out!
