After tallying the results from last night’s GRAMMY® Awards ceremony, 30 Full Sail graduates worked on 14 of the winning projects in 20 categories and 2002 Recording Arts graduate Kory Kruckenburg took home a GRAMMY® for Best Engineered Album, Classical (Eleisha Nelson’s Quincy Porter: Complete Viola Works.)

The past year saw plenty of memorable music releases, and the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences recently highlighted the year’s notable titles with the nominations for the 53rd Annual GRAMMY® Awards. Following the announcement, we were proud to see that a total of 74 Full Sail graduates were credited on 53 of the nominated projects.

Graduates worked as engineers, mixers, and assistants on projects nominated in 45 GRAMMY® categories, including Record of the Year, Best Engineered Album, and Best Traditional Gospel Album. 15 graduates also worked on all five of the nominees for Album of the Year – Eminem’s Recovery, Lady Gaga’s The Fame Monster, Arcade Fire’s The Suburbs, Lady Antebellum’s Need You Now, and Katy Perry’s Teenage Dream.

Of the 74 alumni represented, eight have been directly nominated for their work, making them eligible to receive their own GRAMMY® statues during the ceremony. This includes:

• Cristian Delano, Engineer (Album of the Year – The Fame Monster – Lady Gaga)
• Kory Kruckenburg, Engineer (Best Engineered Album, Classical – Quincy Porter: Complete Viola Works – Eliesha Nelson)
• Robert Marks, Engineer/Mixing (Album of the Year – Recovery – Eminem)
• Graham Marsh, Engineer (Record of the Year – “F*** You” – Cee Lo Green)
• Alex Merzin, Engineer (Album of the Year – Recovery – Eminem)
• Carlos Oyanedel, Engineer (Album of the Year – Teenage Dream – Katy Perry)
• Johnny Severin III, Engineer (Album of the Year – The Fame Monster – Lady Gaga)
• Phil Tan, Mixer (Album of the Year – Teenage Dream – Katy Perry)

The 53rd Annual GRAMMY® Awards will be held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on February 13, 2011, with the live broadcast starting at 8pm (ET/PT) on CBS.
