Adora Svitak is not like most of the 13-year-olds you’ve ever met. A published author since the age of seven, the internationally-known child prodigy is also a teacher, speaker, and activist, and has appeared in The New York Times, The Huffington Post, Mashable, as well as on CNN, NBC, ABC, Voice of America, and BBC.
Svitak recently came to Full Sail to speak to faculty and students, in a presentation called Catch Us If You Can: Learning and Teaching in the 21st Century. Held in the Full Sail Live Venue, her lecture focused on advancements in technology and the way that said advances can be used to close the generational gap between students and teachers to help enrich the education of the 21st century digital native. Yeah, she’s 13.
The event also featured Adora’s sister Adrianna, an accomplished pianist and violinist, who played a few musical selections for the audience.
